Meet the Teacher

Hi! My name is Wendy Conner and I am going to be your child's Kindergarten teacher!  This will be my 23rd year teaching at Nolachuckey Elementary.  I have taught all 23 years in Kindergarten!👩‍🏫  Fun Fact...I was once a student at Nolachuckey from August 1981 - May 1990!!  I have seen many changes, through the decades, to this red brick school house🏫 set in the foothills of Greene County🌄 . The biggest change has been transitioning our middle school pod to a new location and restructuring to preK-5th prior to the 2020-2021 school year...all while in the midst of a global pandemic!🌐

I graduated with my Bachelor's in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood Development from East Tennessee State University.  I earned my Master's Degree in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction in 2005, also from ETSU...Go Bucs!

Fall is my favorite season🍁 . I just love the cool, crisp air and the beautiful fall foliage🍂 . Orange and yellow are my favorite colors. I married my best friend🤵👰, Kip, in October 2000.  In 2006, we welcomed our only child, a son👶, named Benjamin. He is 15 years old and loves to play golf 🏌️‍♂️  year round.  He is in the 10th grade at South Greene High School.  We have a
2 Doxie fur babies, Bella and Callie, that complete our family 👨‍👩‍👦🐕🐶.

I am a 6 year breast cancer survivor🎗!

My absolute favorite thing as a kindergarten teacher is building trust with my kiddos so they feel safe taking chances with their learning. I love molding and shaping little minds🧠 to become readers,📖 writers,✍ and marvelous mathematicians 🔢!  Relationships matter to me...with colleagues, peers, parents, community, and little people!
