What is a School-Home Compact?

 

A School-Parent Compact is an agreement that families, students, and teachers develop together.  It explains how families and teachers will work together to make sure all students reach grade-level standards.

Information gathered from parent surveys are used to help the staff at Nolachuckey develop this compact.  This year we will develop a parent involvement committee to review the compact and make changes based on student needs. 

 

Families are welcome to contribute comments and suggestions at any time.

Safe and Healthy Students:

*Students will have equal access to a safe learning environment that promotes academic achievement, limits the amount of lost instructional time and ensures that all students have the opportunity to learn.

 

*Greene County will reduce the percentage of students reported as chronically absent to 9.8%

 

Reading/Language Arts:

*30% of students on the second grade TNReady assessment scoring on-track (proficient) and mastered (advanced).

 *32% of students in grade 3 - 5 scoring on-track and mastered

*34.3% of students in grade 6 - 8 scoring on-track and mastered

Math:

*40% of students on the second grade TNReady assessment scoring on-track  and mastered

*40.4% of students in grade 3 - 5 scoring on-track  and mastered

Our mission at Nolachuckey, with active support from parents and community, is to provide each student with the opportunity to successfully meet lifelong educational challenges and become productive members of society.  We value your role in working together to help your child achieve his/her full potential. 

 

It is the school’s responsibility to:

In the Classroom

 

It is the teacher’s responsibility to:

 

*provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment

 

*provide active and engaging learning opportunities

 

*Provide a safe, orderly and physically comfortable environment

 

*Believe that students can learn, achieve, and succeed at different rates and diverse ways

 

*Hold parent-teacher conferences

 

*Provide parents with frequent reports on student progress through interim and nine week report cards

At Home

 

It is the responsibility of the parent/guardians to:

 

*encourage regular attendance

 

*monitor homework and review

 

*check for information sent home and promptly return if needed

 

*encourage positive school behavior and appropriate social skills

 

*communicate with the teacher frequently about progress

 

*attend parent-teacher conferences

 

*participate in decisions relating to the education of my child

Students

It is the responsibility of the students to:
